Every season at Cool Kids Campaign is busy as we fundraise to offer 100% FREE programs to our ‘cool kids.’ We have an ambitious event schedule and need YOUR help to make it all possible! We need volunteers at ALL of our events, so check out the schedule of events here.
Email Lauren with any questions about volunteering.
Are you a Graphic Designer?
From our annual report to Baltimore Magazine ads, there is always something making us wish that we were better at Adobe Photoshop and InDesign. If you are a graphic designer, consider donating your time and talent to help Cool Kids Campaign spread the awareness of pediatric cancer. Most of our projects are small, however, they could make a huge impact for our organization and the ‘cool kids’ we serve. Students are welcome who seek to expand their portfolios.
Experienced Website Coders
The next big upgrade for the website will be for the hundreds of hospitals we work with to be able to log in and update their contact information. We will need experienced coders to set up SQL / database tables and a user back end system.
The internship is with our Community Relations Coordinator, Katie Bennett. She is tasked with not only coordinating and managing a long list of events and fundraisers throughout the year, but to be constantly thinking of new ones. In addition, Katie manages our website, database, Facebook Page, running fundraising team, and a host of other tasks. Welcome to the world of small non-profits! There are only four fulltime employees, so anybody working with us is certainly not going to be filing papers – we’ve got real work to do and need an intern ready for that challenge.
Interns working will learn: how to manage a high volume daily task list, learn how to use Excel beyond just adding and dividing numbers, participate in staff meetings, and get experience working in a small office environment. The number of hours a week can be discussed, but to be considered an intern we’re looking for consistency – somebody to come in at least 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours a day.
We don’t have any required majors or academic areas of focus. Anybody is welcome to apply if they are willing to learn and help others while doing so. There are no specific application deadlines however we are taking only one intern for the fall, spring, and summer respectively. The longer you wait, the higher the risk that we’ve filled the position. If you are trying to get credit for your internship, we’re happy to work with you and the school.
Candidates – please email your resume to Katie Bennett.
Each potential volunteer completes a volunteer application, is interviewed by a Cool Kids Campaign staff member, and receives a background check and drug screening. Download the volunteer application here and return please return via email/fax or snail mail to:
