Overview
The 2013 Cool Kids Campaign Running Festival will be held on Sunday, June 2nd.
The 5k and 10k races begin at 8am. The 1 mile fun run and walk begins at 8:20am.
Looking for a great Sunday morning event that the entire family can enjoy? Join us at the Cool Kids Campaign Running Festival! The event consists of three races: a 10K, 5K and 1 Mile fun run/walk. The 5K and 1 Mile distances are open for all ages and walkers are welcome.
Our live DJ, food spread, and focus on family and fun set this event apart. The 5k and 1 mile courses are designed for beginner runners and youngsters. New for 2013 none of the race courses are plotted to touch a public road. The entire event remains on Goucher’s private campus with the assistance of campus police.
Running For A Cause
Over the past three years we have donated over $32,000 to the Cool Kids Campaign Learning Center. The core focus of the Learning Center is to address the academic and social effects on children with cancer. Our programs aim to keep kids current with their grade level in school, while providing them a chance to interact with their peers.
Strollers, Bikes, and Pets
We welcome one stroller per family on the 5k and 1 mile courses only. No strollers are allowed on the 10k course. We prohibit the use of bicycles, roller blades or any other means of transportation on the course besides your own two feet. While the 5k and 1 mile are open to all ages, we do ask that participants in the 10k be at least 13 years old. Sorry pet lovers, no dogs allowed.
A HUGE thank you to the Timonium-Lutherville Patch.com for putting together such a great recap video!
What’s this I hear about cool wash cloths and medals?
At the end of the race, after running, trotting, or walking (hey we don’t judge) the 10k, 5K or fun run course, you will be handed a deliciously cold wash cloth! All participants in the 1 mile fun run and children ages 14 and under will receive a finisher medal!

Race Directors
The past three years would not have been possible without the tireless work of Race Directors Monica Enoch and Nydia Peel. We cannot thank them enough for their dedication and passion for our programs. We are thrilled to announce that Jamie Kahn from Workforce Tactix has been added as a Race Director for the 2013 event. Welcome to the team Jamie! If you are interested in volunteering or helping with the race in 2013, please email runningfestival@coolkidscampaign.org.
