Event Overview
Held in June, this event includes a 5K, 10K and a 1-mile Family Fun Run/Walk
Looking for a great Sunday morning event that the entire family can enjoy? Join us at the Cool Kids Campaign Running Festival! The event consists of three races and the 5K and 1-mile distances are open for all ages. Walkers are welcome!
Live DJ, food spread and a focus on family set this event apart. The 5K and 1-mile courses are designed for beginner runners and youngsters. The race courses are plotted not to touch public roads; the entire event remains on Goucher College’s private campus with the assistance of campus security.
Running for a cause
In just four of these annual events, $50,000 has been raised to benefit our 100% free programs, including those offered through our Cool Kids Learning Center. The core focus of the Learning Center is to address the academic and social effects on children with cancer. Free tutoring aims to keep kids with cancer current in their grade level in school, while providing them a chance to interact with peers.
Strollers, Bikes & Pets
We welcome one stroller per family only on the 5K and 1-mile courses. No strollers are allowed on the 10K course. We prohibit the use of bicycles, roller blades or any other means of transportation on the courses besides your own feet. While the 5K and 1-mile are open to all ages, we ask that participants in the 10K are at least 13-years-old. Sorry pet lovers – no animals allowed.

What’s this about cool washcloths and medals?
At the end of the races, you’ll be handed a deliciously cold washcloth! All participants in the 1-mile Fun Run and children ages 14 and under will receive a finisher medal!
