Thank you for your interest and support in Justin Berk’s 3rd Annual 325 Mile Trek Across Maryland to benefit the Cool Kids Campaign. Last year’s Trek was such an overwhelming success and generated such enthusiasm that we decided to do it again! Two treks have combined to raise $50,000 for Cool Kids Campaign, so thank you to everyone who donated! We are inviting you to join in by becoming trekkers with Justin along the way. There is an option to do the entire week, single day, or put up a team that shares the burden. The hiking portion of each day is a speed walk that includes some jogging at times, mostly downhill. Justin sets the pace and Trekkers will be expected to keep up. This is NOT a walk in the park! The biking portion includes many hills and challenging roadside terrain. There are two days that are mostly cycling and total about 50 miles each. The 325 mile Trek continues rain or shine, heat or hail. Because after all, they are crossing the state with a weatherman.
We start at the summit of Wisp and end at the Inlet in Ocean City 7 days later

Day 1 – Sunday, August 7 – Wisp to Cumberland, 41 miles
Day 2 – Monday, August 8 – Cumberland to Hancock, 41 miles
Day 3 – Tuesday, August 9 – Hancock to Frederick, 50 miles
Day 4 – Wednesday, August 10 – Frederick to Elkridge, 52 miles – full biking day

Where are the proceeds from the Trek going?
All the proceeds raised from this Trek Across Maryland go to Cool Kids Campaign, a nonprofit organization devoted to improving the quality of life for pediatric oncology patients and their families by focusing on the academic, social and emotional needs brought on by a cancer diagnosis. Cool Kids Campaign began in 2006 to help others keep in mind that kids are cool - sick or healthy! The Cool Kids Learning Center located in Towson opened in the fall of 2011, providing tutoring, ‘Mommy & Me’ for ages 2 to 5, a Teen Club open for ages 13-19, and Team Sibs meetings for the siblings of kids with cancer. All of these programs are 100% free of charge to both current and former patients. Cool Kids Campaign also serves children nationwide through care packages, Cool Kids Connection newspaper, Cancer Fears ME Merchandise, Full Family Mentoring Program and Myrtle's Magical Beach Vacation.
