We all know the strain that a cancer diagnosis places on the whole family. The impact of this disease on the mother and father is especially hard. The Cool Kids Campaign recognizes this and has formed a small (3 couple) counseling group.
The group will begin meeting on Saturdays at 9am once we get three couples registered. They will meet for six Saturdays for 90 minutes each time. After the initial six sessions each couple can choose to continue with the group for a maximum of 12 sessions or opt out at that time. We will open the group to new couples as spots become available.
The group will be led by Mr. Joseph James. Mr. James has an MSW from the University of Maryland School of Social Work, Class of ’76. He has worked in various clinical settings, including inpatient and outpatient, until 1989 when he began working in private practice exclusively. He has been a Diplomat in the American Group Psychotherapy Association and has worked with families and couples throughout his career. He is currently working as a life coach and has coached individuals and groups with problems related to family and work.
All meetings will take place at the Cool Kids Campaign, 8422 Bellona Lane, Suite 102, Towson, MD 21204. We are located off the Baltimore Beltway Exit 25/Charles Street. Directions & Maps
Childcare will be available on site during the counseling session. You must indicate if you will need this service.
