Our Houses of Hope awareness project, in its second year, was designed to allow some of our “cool kids” the chance to express themselves as people rather than cancer patients and statistics. It also brings much needed awareness to pediatric cancer in general. Annually in the Baltimore area alone, Johns Hopkins Children’s Hospital, University of Maryland Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Sinai treat hundreds of children for various cancers. This does not factor in the thousands of kids who are living as survivors with the long-term lingering effects of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. The 2013 Houses of Hope exhibit was featured in three Baltimore area malls in August during their FAMILY FUN DAYS. Thanks to The Mall in Columbia, White Marsh Mall, and Towson Town Center for hosting.
